‘Design without compromise’
Designing the 14 awards for Converge was a considered process. To pay homage to sustainability and honour the K-BRIQ®'s low-carbon material, these awards were crafted with Kenoteq’s K-SLIP™, hand-cut and prepared into custom shapes.
The design process was driven by the commitment to
eco-consciousness, so all constituents of the awards were eco-based, including the wood finish and adhesive, so that much like the K-SLIP™, they are 100% recyclable.
‘Beauty of sustainable design’
We matched the K-SLIPs™ to the distinctive colours of Converge’s Awards, using colours already found in Kenoteq’s core range, and also developing a dark green K-SLIP™ by using our colour-matching service for the Net Zero awards.
This fusion was to highlight the beauty of sustainable design, and showcase the brick material’s adaptability and flexibility in creating unique, meaningful pieces. The Converge Awards embody a harmonious blend of sustainability and innovation, inspired by the spirit of achievement from Scottish university spin-outs.
Reflecting the green ambitions of the programme, the awards were made from the ultra low carbon K-BRIQ® material which were cut and polished to show the intrinsic waste particles of the material.
They were then etched and embedded in recycled timber.
